Spring Forward with Blue Mesa

After a long winter with short days and cold, dreary weather, many are looking forward to those first signs of spring. Clear blue skies, birds chirping in the morning, warm breezes, green leaves returning; all of these are little things that bring lots of joy and have Texans excited for the months to come. The one downside to the return of spring is the always-dreaded loss of an hour’s worth of sleep. “Spring Forward” sounds peppy but can leave many of us feeling anything but. Even though setting our clocks forward by one hour to mark the coming of a new season doesn’t sound too difficult, it can make the next day challenging when trying to function off less sleep. Giving yourself something to look forward to, such as a delicious brunch with family or friends, can help ease the pain.

Mimosa Brunch

Blue Mesa Grill, located in Addison, Fort Worth, and Plano, serves an exceptional weekend brunch every Saturday from 10am to 2pm and Sunday from 10am-3pm. The all-you-can-eat menu brings that perfect Blue Mesa southwestern twist to more traditional breakfast menu. Of course, the restaurant offers the classic options of biscuits and gravy, Belgian waffles with either berries or fried chicken and syrup, and made-to-order omelets. However, it wouldn’t be true to Blue Mesa if they did not offer huevos rancheros, migas, and an entire carving station complete with smoked brisket, BBQ pork, chicken verde, and red chile salmon. A few of the other brunch favorites are the trademark adobe pie, sweet corn cakes, and southwest Caesar salad.

Brunch Cocktails

Brunch is not complete without a cocktail. Mimosas are naturally one of the top selections, but another popular choice is the Bloody Mary. Blue Mesa offers a House Bloody Mary and a Spicy Bloody Mary. If spicy is what you’re looking for, you could also go with the Cucumber Jalapeno Smash which is the perfect blend of light, refreshing, and a little bit of heat. While you can’t go wrong with any of these options, Blue Mesa is well known for their margaritas, and offer a variety on their brunch cocktail menu. Whether you choose the Top Shelf Margarita or the Classic Blue, you will be satisfied. If you are someone who prefers sweet over savory for your brunch, the Blackberry Sangria is perfect for you.

Losing an hour of sleep can be tough on anyone. It can certainly make the following day seem to drag on and on. There’s no use is having a bad day with springtime right around the corner. Make your day a little brighter with one of Texas’ most tasty brunch spots.
